Chemistry Department hopes curriculum changes will boost number of majors (Stanford Report)
Although more than 600 students enroll in an introductory chemistry course every year, on average only 18 graduate with an undergraduate degree in the subject, according to the registrar’s office. Richard Zare, chair of the Chemistry Department, and Dan Stack, head of undergraduate chemistry education, want to change this.
