ICE High Speed Train Crash into Sheep in Tunnel, 26.04.2008

On the 26th of April in 2008 an ICE High Speed Train near the German town of Fulda crashed with more than 200 km/h into a large sheep herd which had gone astray a few metres into a tunnel.
The ICE needed about 1 km to stop and the entire train derailed. One of the reasons for its derailing was that many sheep were squashed under the wheels.
The luck was that it happened in a tunnel so the tunnel walls prevented the derailing waggons from falling aside.
No human being died, only fourty of them were injured, most merely slightly. They all had to walk the 1 km back out of the tunnel through mutilated sheep cadavers and fragments of sheep.
I am very happy for those people but… I also feel very sorry for the sheep.
Such a horrible end you wish to no one, also not to animals.
